Terms of Use
Effective Date: September 9, 2026
Welcome to HERAssociation.com, the website of HERA | The HER Association (“HERA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of HERAssociation.com, the HERA directory, HERA member profiles, forms, content, and other features available through the website.
By accessing or using HERAssociation.com, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. What HERA Is
HERA operates a national public directory featuring women working in skilled trades and eligible women-owned trade and trade-related businesses.
The directory allows people to search for HERA members, view approved public professional and business information, and use the external contact information provided on member profiles to contact them directly.
Searching and viewing the HERA directory is free.
Basic HERA membership and directory inclusion are also free for eligible women and qualifying women-owned businesses.
2. HERA Is a Directory, Not the Service Provider
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the tradeswomen and businesses listed through HERA are independent from HERA.
HERA does not perform the work advertised or described on independent member profiles, enter into service contracts on behalf of listed members, set their prices, schedule their work, collect payment for their services, or supervise their performance.
If you contact or hire a person or business found through HERA, any agreement concerning the work, products, services, price, scheduling, payment, warranties, or other terms is between you and that person or business.
3. HERA Does Not Guarantee Listed Members
A HERA listing does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or blanket endorsement of a member.
At this stage, HERA does not represent that every listed member has been independently verified, background checked, certified, or investigated by HERA.
HERA does not guarantee a listed member’s:
- workmanship;
- products or services;
- pricing;
- licensing or credentials;
- availability;
- responsiveness;
- conduct;
- business practices;
- safety;
- accuracy of representations; or
- future performance.
Visitors are responsible for making their own hiring and purchasing decisions and for conducting any checks they consider appropriate before entering into an agreement with a listed person or business.
This distinction is specifically built into HERA’s trust model: ordinary directory participation is not a guarantee of workmanship or future conduct.
4. Eligibility for HERA Membership and Directory Listings
HERA is not a general directory of every business owned by a woman.
Directory eligibility is limited to women working in qualifying trades and to women-owned businesses whose primary work, products, materials, equipment, or services fall within HERA’s trade and trade-related eligibility standards.
HERA determines whether a person or business qualifies for membership and directory inclusion.
HERA may decline, pause, remove, recategorize, or request additional information concerning a listing when necessary to maintain the purpose, accuracy, organization, or integrity of the directory. HERA’s eligibility boundary is intentionally narrower than a general women-owned-business directory.
5. Member and Listing Responsibilities
HERA members are responsible for providing accurate professional and business information.
Members are expected to:
- provide truthful and current information;
- keep service areas and business contact information reasonably current;
- accurately describe their work, products, services, qualifications, and business;
- notify HERA when material listing information changes;
- notify HERA if they no longer wish to participate;
- use HERA professionally; and
- comply with HERA’s applicable privacy, safety, conduct, and directory rules.
HERA may pause or remove listings that are materially inaccurate, abandoned, deceptive, abusive, misleading, or otherwise seriously inconsistent with HERA’s standards.
6. Public Directory Information
HERA profiles are publicly accessible.
Information displayed on a profile may include approved business-facing information such as a professional or business name, trade or category, services or products, service area, business phone number, professional email address, website, social media links, photographs, and other information approved for publication.
Members should not submit information for public display that they do not want publicly available.
Members may contact HERA to request corrections, updates, or removal of directory information.
Listing questions and requests may be sent to:
7. Permission to Publish Submitted Listing Content
By submitting photographs, descriptions, logos, business information, professional information, or other material for publication through HERA, you represent that you have the right to provide that material and authorize HERA to display it as part of your directory listing and related HERA website functions.
You retain ownership of material you own.
You grant HERA permission to host, reproduce, display, format, resize, and organize submitted material as reasonably necessary to create, maintain, promote, and display your HERA listing.
HERA may make reasonable formatting, spelling, organizational, or category adjustments for consistency, while preserving the substance of member-provided information.
8. Acceptable Use of the HERA Directory
HERAssociation.com and the HERA directory are intended for legitimate discovery, professional, informational, and business purposes.
You may not use HERA to:
- scrape, crawl, harvest, extract, or systematically collect directory information without HERA’s permission;
- build, populate, or enrich another directory, database, marketing list, lead list, or similar commercial resource using HERA information;
- send spam or mass unsolicited communications to HERA members;
- harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, surveil, or repeatedly contact a member after being asked to stop;
- impersonate HERA, a HERA member, or another person or business;
- use directory information for fraudulent, deceptive, unlawful, or abusive purposes;
- attempt to obtain personal information that a member has not chosen to make public;
- interfere with, damage, disable, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to HERAssociation.com;
- introduce malware, malicious code, or other harmful technology;
- falsely suggest affiliation with, approval by, or endorsement from HERA;
- misuse HERA branding, member information, or website content; or
- use the website in violation of applicable law.
These protections are intentional. HERA’s plan specifically calls for enforceable rules against scraping, harassment, misuse, impersonation, and abusive contact involving directory information.
9. Protecting HERA Members and the Directory
HERA may take reasonable action when we believe the website, directory, or member information is being misused.
Depending on the circumstances, HERA may:
- block or restrict website access;
- limit access from particular devices, networks, or technical systems;
- remove or restrict content;
- contact affected members;
- preserve relevant records;
- report unlawful activity where appropriate; or
- take other reasonable steps to protect HERA, its members, and the integrity of the directory.
HERA also reserves the right to modify how directory access is provided if public access materially undermines member privacy, safety, comfort, participation, or the integrity of the network.
10. Contact Between Visitors and HERA Members
HERA member profiles may contain business phone numbers, emails, websites, social media links, or other external contact information.
Those contact methods are provided so people can contact members directly for legitimate professional or business purposes.
HERA is not responsible for communications, negotiations, agreements, payments, disputes, products, services, or other interactions that occur after a visitor leaves HERAssociation.com or contacts a member independently.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
HERAssociation.com may contain links to websites, social media pages, businesses, advertisers, products, or other services operated by third parties.
HERA does not control those third-party websites or services.
A link from HERA does not automatically mean HERA guarantees, endorses, or accepts responsibility for everything offered, stated, or done by the third party.
Your use of a third-party website or service is governed by that third party’s own terms and policies.
12. Advertising
HERAssociation.com may display advertising.
The presence of an advertisement does not automatically constitute a HERA endorsement, guarantee, or recommendation of the advertiser, product, or service.
Advertisers and third parties are responsible for their own representations, products, services, offers, websites, and business practices.
13. HERA Content and Intellectual Property
The HERA name, The HER Association name, HERA branding, logos, design elements, original website copy, editorial content, graphics, photographs owned by HERA, and other original HERA materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Unless HERA gives permission, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit HERA-owned content or branding.
You may share ordinary links to public HERA webpages.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of HERA intellectual property to website visitors or directory members.
14. Website Availability and Changes
HERA may modify, update, reorganize, suspend, or discontinue portions of HERAssociation.com as the organization and directory develop.
We do not guarantee that every website feature will always be available, error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every device or browser.
HERA may also correct errors, update directory information, change categories, adjust website functionality, and improve the way information is presented.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
HERAssociation.com and the HERA directory are provided on an “as available” basis.
While HERA intends to maintain a useful, accurate, and professional directory, we cannot guarantee that every piece of information on the website will always be complete, current, error-free, or uninterrupted.
Nothing on HERAssociation.com should be interpreted as a guarantee concerning the quality, suitability, safety, legality, pricing, availability, or performance of an independent member, business, product, or service.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, HERA is not responsible for losses, damages, injuries, disputes, expenses, or claims arising from:
- the independent actions or omissions of a listed member or business;
- work performed or products or services provided by a listed member or third party;
- agreements entered into between website visitors and listed members;
- reliance on information provided by an independent member;
- third-party websites or services;
- unauthorized misuse of publicly available directory information; or
- temporary website errors, interruptions, or availability issues.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Privacy
Use of HERAssociation.com is also subject to HERA’s Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how HERA collects, uses, publishes, protects, and handles information through the website and directory.
18. Changes to These Terms
HERA may update these Terms of Use as the website, directory, policies, or operations develop.
Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
