Frequently Asked Questions about HERA

Find essential answers regarding our national directory connecting consumers with skilled tradeswomen and women-owned businesses.

What is HERA?

HERA is a national directory and network for women working in skilled trades and eligible women-owned trade and trade-related businesses. We make it easier for women to find other women already doing the work and building the businesses behind it.

Is the HERA directory free to search?

Yes. Anyone can search and view the HERA directory for free.

How much does it cost money to become a HERA member or to get listed?

Free! Basic HERA membership and directory listings are free for eligible tradeswomen and qualifying women-owned businesses.

Who can be listed on HERA?

HERA includes women working in skilled trades and qualifying women-owned businesses whose work, products, or services are directly connected to trades, construction, repair, maintenance, fabrication, property, automotive, or related industries.

Can a women-owned business be listed even if the owner does not personally perform a trade?

Yes, if the business itself belongs within HERA’s eligibility guidelines. Examples may include women-owned companies offering tools, fixtures, cabinetry, flooring, materials, equipment, workwear, automotive services, building supplies, and other trade-related products or services.

Is HERA only for home-service professionals?

No. HERA reaches beyond home services and may include women working in automotive, welding, fabrication, construction, mechanical work, skilled repair, and other qualifying trades and industries.

Is HERA available nationwide?

Yes. HERA is being built as a national directory from the beginning, not as a local-only network.

How do I find someone through HERA?

Search the directory by trade, category, location, or any other available filters. From there, you can explore individual HERA profiles and use the listed business contact information to reach out directly.

Does HERA verify or guarantee everyone listed in the directory?

Not at this stage. A HERA listing does not mean HERA guarantees a provider’s workmanship, pricing, availability, or conduct. Profiles contain approved business information to help visitors make their own informed decisions.

I’m already listed. How do I update or remove my information?
